Reflect Group Settings on Product Page

When the delivery date widget (main calendar) is placed on a product page, available delivery dates are normally calculated from items already in the cart. As a result, opening a product page with an empty cart — or with a different product in the cart — does NOT reflect the Grouping by Products settings of the currently displayed product.

By enabling this option, the product page calendar is calculated using only the currently displayed product. The cart contents are ignored, and the product’s group settings are reflected directly.

How to enable

  1. Open the “Grouping by Products” section in the app admin.
  2. Just below the checkbox “When multiple groups’ products are in the cart, use the delivery possible dates for multiple groups’ settings.”, turn ON “Reflect grouping settings on the product page (when the widget is placed on the product page)”.
  3. Save.

App settings screen

The default is OFF. Turn this ON only if you have placed the main calendar on the product page and want the grouping settings to be reflected on it.

Behavior

  • The product page calendar is calculated using only the currently displayed product (including out-of-stock variants). Other items in the cart do not affect the product page calendar.
  • Switching variants triggers an automatic recalculation.

Calendar shown on the product page

Note: For products targeted by Grouping by Products (Hide on Product Page), this option does not apply and the legacy behavior (calculation from cart contents) is used instead.

Example

PriorityGroupDelivery date rangeApplied to
1Group 11-7 daysProduct A
2Group 210-20 daysProduct B

Calendar shown when opening Product B’s product page:

  • OFF (legacy behavior): With an empty cart, no group can be determined and the priority 1 group (Group 1, 1-7 days) is shown. With Product A in the cart, Group 1 (1-7 days) is shown.
  • ON: Group 2 (10-20 days) is always shown regardless of cart contents.

Notes

The product page calendar represents “the available delivery dates for this product alone”. It may differ from the cart page calendar when multiple products are added to the cart.

If you also use Show shortest delivery date on the product page, we recommend adding a note near the displayed date to explain the discrepancy. For example:

The actual selectable shortest delivery date may differ when other products are in the cart.

Out of scope

  • Cart page and checkout page behavior is unchanged (calculation is based on all items in the cart).
  • Pages that display multiple products simultaneously, such as quick view on collection pages, are not supported.
